St George’s CE Primary School is a Church of England Voluntary Aided School. The Governing Body are responsible for the admission of pupils to the school. A copy of the Admissions Policy is available below.
Each year, 60 children are admitted to our Reception, 20 of these places are designated as Foundation places to be offered to children who have one or more parents who are faithful and regular worshipers in a Christian Church.
Admissions to the school including Reception and In-Year are administered through Lewisham Local Authority in accordance with strict admission criteria; see below for Lewisham’s Determined Admissions Policy 2018/19.
The Nursery offers 25 morning and 25 afternoon places (15 hours per week) for 3 year olds, 25 of these places are designated as Foundation places. Applications for Nursery places are made directly to St George’s school and are exempt from Lewisham’s co-ordinated admission arrangements.

Applications for Primary School places are made in accordance with Lewisham’s co-ordinated admission arrangements. Applications must be made online directly to your home Local Authority (i.e. the borough where you live and pay council tax) at www.eadmissions.org.uk . If you are unable to apply online, you should contact the Local Authority to obtain a paper application. For further information about admissions, please contact the school admissions department for your home Local Authority.

RECEPTION FOUNDATION PLACE’s, as well as applying directly online through the eadmissions portal and naming St George’s as one of your preference schools you must also complete and return directly to the school a Supplementary Admissions Form endorsed by your Priest/Minister. A copy of the Supplementary Admission Form is available below.
Deadline for receipt of Supplementary forms is 11.59pm on 15 January 2018.
The Governing Body are aware of the Government’s new paper relating to deferred entry into Reception. You are strongly advised to seek further information from the Local Authority offering a reception place to your child should you wish to consider deferring your childs place.
Please note that the school will deal with each case on a 1:1 basis.
IN-YEAR ADMISSIONS (ALL YEAR GROUPS)
Once the school year has started Lewisham Local Authority co-ordinates all in-year admissions including places in Years 1-6 and reception. Applications for all in-year transfers must be made to Lewisham by completing the “paper” application form available at:
In-year offers are made in accordance with Lewisham Admission. The Local Authority will inform the school of any offers made and the school will then contact you to arrange an induction interview with the Head Teacher.
The Local Authority holds the waiting list for these year groups.
The Governing Body is responsible for administering all Nursery Applications, these do not fall within Lewisham’s co-ordinated admissions criteria.
Children can be considered for a place in the school Nursery following their 3rd birthday. Places are for 15 funded hours per week, 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
Morning places are 8.45am to 11.45am.
Afternoon places are 12.30pm to 3.30pm.
Applications can be made at any time after your child’s 2nd birthday by completing and returning the St George’s School Admission Form, available from the school office, along with a copy of your child’s Birth Certificate and Proof of Address to:

If you are applying for a Nursery Foundation Place you should also complete and return a Supplementary Admission Form.
Depending on when you make your child’s application you may be asked to present proof of address again when being considered for a Nursery place.
Unsuccessful applicants do not have the right of appeal but the child’s name can be placed on a waiting list.
