Literacy: Persuasive letter – Running with the Bulls

Parents please ensure your child is fully supervised on todays literacy session. We recommend sticking with the child friendly sources of information provided.

A big part of the Spanish Fiesta de San Fermin is ‘The Running of the Bulls”. This is an event that involves people running in front of a small group of cattle, typically six but sometimes ten or more, that have been let loose on a course of a sectioned-off area of the streets of Pamplona. Millions of people watch the event in person or via television every year. It is very dangerous as people often get hurt and the bulls are often killed at the end during a “Bull fight” with a Matador.

While it is still a very popular event in Spain which attracts a lot of visitors who spend money in the local area , many people feel that it should be stopped as they believe it is animal cruelty.

What is your opinion? Why do you think that?
