Year 3/4 Indoor Athletics

Prendergast Ladywell School

We entered 9 boys and 9 girls across years 3 and 4 in the indoor athletics competition. All children had to complete in 2 running events and 2 field events (throwing and jumping).

ATP World Tour Finals

Monday 12th November

The O2 Arena

We were lucky enough to get tickets to go to the ATP World Tour Finals at the O2 seeing the top tennis players in the world. 20 children in KS2 went to see a doubles match and a singles match.

Year 5/6 Hockey

Sydenham High School

We took 1 team to the Year 5/6 Hockey tournament where the children met a professional hockey player from New Zealand!!!! All children represented the school fantastically well.

We took 2 teams to the Year 3/4 mixed hockey tournament. Both teams played extremely well. Special mention to Shakai in Rosen who won a Sporting Spirit award!!

Fit for Life

Conisborough College

Our Fit for Life club attended a festival with other schools in Lewisham. We took part in a variety of activities included parachute games, races and target games.

Year 5/6 Tennis Tournament

Ladywell Fields 

Well done to Daniel and Gillian from Year 6 and Jerome and Lara from Year 5 who represented St George’s School in the Lewisham 5/6 tennis tournament. All children played really well and came third in their group.

Women’s FA Cup Final 

Saturday 5th May

Wembley Stadium

Once again we were lucky enough to attend the Women’s FA cup final at Wembley. This year we saw Chelsea Ladies beat Arsenal Ladies 3-1. 


Year 3/4 Football Competition

Prendergast Ladywell School

Well done to the year 3/4 football team who participated fantastically well in the Lewisham School Games tournament. We took two teams to the event and all children represented the school brilliantly. Team A came 3rd in their group and Team be came 4th in their group. Special mention to Ria who was selected to read the Athlete’s declaration and Camarri who won the Passion sporting spirit award. 


Year 5/6 Girls Football Competition

Prendergast Ladywell School

Well done to the year 5/6 Girls Football teams. We took two teams to the Girls Football School Games competition, with all players represented the school fantastically well. Team A narrowly missed out on going through to the quarter finals – coming 2nd in their group. Well done to team B who persisted with every match and game 5th in their group!

We took two teams to the Lewisham School Games. Well done to all the boys who participated really well and represented the school fantastically well. Team A came 3rd in their group, just missing out on a place in the quarter finals, whilst team B came 5th in their group.



Year 5/6 Basketball Competition

Well done to the Year 5/6 basketball team who attended the School Games Basketball. All children played well. Special mention to Toyosi in Year 6 who won the Sporting Spirit away from Teamwork.

KS2 Gymnastics Training

Prendergast Ladywell

We took 4 children to a gymnastics training event at Predergast Ladywell, where the children learnt the different aspects to a gymnastics competition from professional coaches. The main event will be in April.

Year 3/4 Basketball Competition

Well done to the Year 3/4 basketball teams. We took 3 teams to the School Games Basketball competition. Well done to team A who won their group and got to the semi-finals coming 4th overall.

Special mention to William in Year 4 who won the Sporting Spirit Award for Teamwork.

A massive well done to everybody for winning the overall ‘Respect’ award!!!

Year 3/4 Hockey Tournament

Sydenham High School

Well done to our year 3/4 hockey team who represented the school really well at the hockey tournament this year. After scoring a lot of goals and working well they came 4th in the competition. Well Done!!

Year 3/4 Netball Festival

Our year 3 and 4 netball team went to a netball festival to learn how to play the sport. Well done to all children who went! They were voted the best behaved and showed the best attitude towards sports bringing back a trophy!

Change for Life

Our new change for life club went to a festival at Prendergast Ladywell School. Here they learnt about healthy eating and participated in some exciting games.

Summer Sports

Tennis Camps – KIMP Tennis Academy at Dulwich Sports Club

We were once again extremely lucky to give 3 children the opportunity to attend a tennis camp in the summer. Kerstin Polster, the Head Coach at Dulwich Sports Club, offered 3 children free coaching for the first week of the summer holidays this year. All 3 children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and learnt all the basic tennis shots through teaching and Spanish Drills. The week ended with a tournament which Toni got the bronze medal!!!

Year 3/4 QuadKids

Date: Thursday 22nd June 2017

Venue: Ladywell Arena Track

St George’s entered 2 teams to the year 3/4 Quad Kids Development competition at Ladywell Arena. All children had to participate in 4 events; 50m sprint, 400m run, standing long jump and vortex throw. All children did extremely well did their best in all the events.


 Special mention to Malakai in year 4 who won 3 of his events and second in the fourth and got the sporting spirit award for Honesty. Well Done!
