Lively Lunar New Year

This week Nursery have been very busy learning about Lunar New Year!

Lunar New Year is celebrated in many countries, but in the nursery we have explored how this festival is celebrated by many in the Chinese community all around the world.

We were very creative. We made red Chinese lanterns - as red is seen as a lucky colour in China.

We made dragon masks so we could do a Dragon Dance - an important part of the festival.

We kept on trying and showed that great nursery quality of Persistence as we practised using chopsticks.

And finally we had lots to talk about as we cooked and ate Chinese noodles and rice!!!!

Our pupils are certainly living up to our Vision statement in Early Years:

Be a Trier. Be a Talker. Be an Explorer. Be a Creator.
