Clay Creations!

Jemison class began our new unit on 3D modelling with a bang!

Our vision for Art is:

Be creative.

Be proficient.

Be reflective.

Jemison class have started our unit on 3D modelling with using clay.  We looked at pebbles and were inspired by art made from pebbles.  We used two different colours of classy clay - grey and terracotta - to form pebbles by smoothing the surface with water.  We then added designs such as lines, dots, and patterns using using clay tools.  We thought about how to change the shape of clay using rolling, cutting and smoothing techniques.

It was a messy experience but not one to be forgotten and the children loved every minute!  Next week, we will be creating towers and designs using our clay pebbles.  Well done, Year 1!
