Feeling Sunflower Joy!

"Which way will the sunflower turn, surrounded by millions of suns?": Allen Ginsberg

In Year 3, we have been inspired by the expressionist Vincent Van Gogh's beautiful Sunflowers. On Tuesday, we had the pleasure of seeing "the real thing" at the National Gallery, comparing it to "Dutch Boats in a Gale" by William Turner and "Surprised!" by Henri Roussau, and impressed with our knowledge of the artist and our observation skills. Ask us about how the different artists showed their feelings and created a "mood" in their paintings!

Then, back at school, we put our new Drawing and Painting skills to paper, beginning our own versions of the masterpiece.

We were very lucky to be one of the first classes to use our newly dedicated art room.

We are very happy with the results so far, stay tuned for the finished pieces soon!

Be creative.

Be proficient.
