Fun at the Fire Station!

On Friday, Year Two visited our local fire station!

Our Curriculum Vision for history at St George's is:

Be inspired.

Be academic.

Be reasoned.

This week, we have certainly been inspired by our trip!

In history, we have been learning about the great fire of London.

We have been looking at different resources we have now to prevent fires. We compared these resources to those people would have used in 1666, the date of the great fire of London.

As part of our learning, we explored our local fire station at Forest Hill.

We got to have a look at fire engines and meet real firemen and women.

Did you know that fire staff can change our smoke alarms as well as put out fires?

We then wrote a recount of our adventure to the fire station. Check out our fabulous handwriting!
