Our Value of the month: GENEROSITY

Dear St. George's families,

Firstly, we would like to extend a warm thank you to all the families who attended our open classrooms this week. We hope you found them informative and feel more confident in supporting your child at home.

A reminder that Year Two families were introduced to some new home learning routines. We look forward to your support in ensuring pupils complete home learning tasks to prepare them for life in Key Stage 2.

It has been an exciting time for Pupil Leadership this week. Firstly, our School Council were announced, having been democratically voted in by their peers. Secondly, Head Boy and Head Girl interviews took place on Thursday. We look forward to announcing the successful candidates next week. Check out the news stories below to see how the Pupil Leadership journey has started this academic year.

Next week, Miss Sarris and Miss Faulkner are looking forward to seeing all Reception and Year One parents and carers at our reading cafés. It is a chance to find out how we teach phonics at St George's and how you can support your child at home.

As ever, we wish you the very best of weekends, full of rest and fun, ready for learning on Monday.

Mr Janes

Head teacher

Attendance

At St Georges's, our culture statement says:

We are fun. We are together.

Being together means attending school regularly. This year, we have set a challenging target for attendance to be in line with pre-Covid levels. Each week we will publish our attendance in this newsletter. Please contribute by ensuring your child is in school, not missing out on learning.

This week's average attendance: 95.94%
Highest class attendance of the week: Tull Class - 100%
Academic year's average attendance: 95.20%
Our target for the year: 97.00%

We are proud to say that we have now been awarded two attendance certificates. We have been in the top 25% of similar schools for attendance in both the Autumn and Spring terms of the 2023-24 academic year!
