Our Value of the month: GENEROSITY

Dear St. George's families,

What a great final week of half term. Our culture statement at St George's is: We are fun. We are together. On Thursday, the school certainly lived up to this statement. Years 1 to 6 all took the trip to our Church to celebrate Harvest. A big thank you to all families who lived out a value of the month of generosity and gave a contribution to our Harvest Collection. Check out the news story below to see how we got on.

A big thank you to all families who have been supporting their children with home learning. Across the half term, Year 2 to 6 have had an average of over 90% for completion of reading home learning. We know this will make such a difference to their progress. We look forward to seeing an even higher completion rate after half term!

Please make a note of the upcoming dates for after the half term break below. Open Classroom slots in the second week after half term are certainly one for the diary. We invite all parents to visit their child's classroom, look through their child's learning books and speak to their class teacher.

We wish you the very best of breaks, full of rest and fun, ready for learning after half term.

Mr Janes

Attendance

At St Georges's, our culture statement says:

We are fun. We are together.

Being together means attending school regularly. This year, we have set a challenging target for attendance to be in line with pre-Covid levels. Each week we will publish our attendance in this newsletter. Please contribute by ensuring your child is in school, not missing out on learning.

This week's average attendance: 98.43%
Highest class attendance of the week: Tull Class - 100%
Academic year's average attendance: 96.15%
Our target for the year: 97.00%

We are proud to say that we have now been awarded two attendance certificates. We have been in the top 25% of similar schools for attendance in both the Autumn and Spring terms of the 2023-24 academic year!
