Our Value of the month: PEACE

Dear St. George’s families,

Dear St. George’s families,

What a wonderful week it has been! A heartfelt thank you to everyone for living out our culture statement, “We are fun. We are together,” by dressing up and raising money for Children in Need. Your creativity and generosity were truly inspiring! We also announced the winners of the competitions, and it’s been a delight to celebrate their achievements together.

We’d like to extend another thank you to all the parents who joined us for Open Classrooms. We hope you found the experience informative and enjoyed seeing your child’s learning journey so far. A big well done to our Pupil Leadership Team for leading a thoughtful Anti-Bullying Week assembly on the theme of “Choose Respect.” Their words were powerful, and the discussions they sparked across the school have been inspiring.

Please take a moment to check the upcoming dates below, including the Parent Association Big Wrap-Up. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to come together and wrap presents kindly donated by the Church, which will be gifted to our pupils before the Christmas break.

Additionally, keep an eye out for correspondence regarding nativities, as these will be ticketed events. We can’t wait to share these magical performances with you. Next week, Father Richard warmly invites parents to join pupils for Open Worship – a lovely way to share in our collective reflection and celebration.

Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support, and we look forward to seeing you at the many festive events to come!

We wish you the very best of weekends, full of rest and fun, ready for learning on Monday.

Mr Janes

Attendance

At St Georges's, our culture statement says:

We are fun. We are together.

Being together means attending school regularly. This year, we have set a challenging target for attendance to be in line with pre-Covid levels. Each week we will publish our attendance in this newsletter. Please contribute by ensuring your child is in school, not missing out on learning.

This week's average attendance: 97.44%
Highest class attendance of the week: Tull Class - 100%
Academic year's average attendance: 96.5%
Our target for the year: 97.00%

We are proud to say that we have now been awarded two attendance certificates. We have been in the top 25% of similar schools for attendance in both the Autumn and Spring terms of the 2023-24 academic year!
