Our Value of the month: HOPE

Dear St. George’s families,

What a festive and busy week we’ve had! Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Christmas Art Fair on Monday. It was a delight to see so many families celebrating our pupils’ creativity while supporting our efforts to fund more art supplies.

We’re also thrilled to share some exciting news—St. George’s has been awarded another certificate from the FFT, recognising our impressive attendance rates! We are proud to be in the top 10% of similar schools nationwide for attendance across the 2023–2024 academic year. This is a testament to the partnership between home and school in ensuring our pupils have every opportunity to thrive.

Looking ahead, next week is shaping up to be another wonderful one. The Parent Association Big Wrap-Up is just around the corner, where parents will come together to wrap presents generously donated by the Church for our pupils. We’re also kicking off the Nativity performances next week, with our youngest pupils from Nursery to Year 1 sharing their magical retelling of the Christmas story.

On Wednesday, pupils will enjoy their Christmas lunch, complete with crackers full of jokes! Pupils are welcome to wear their Christmas jumpers to make the day even more festive.

Finally, don’t forget to visit the home learning page on the school website. You’ll find suggested activities to help your child prepare for their class’s Home Learning Exhibition during the final week of term. We can’t wait to see their hard work and creativity on display.

Thank you, as always, for your support and enthusiasm as we celebrate this special season together.

Warm regards,

Mr Janes

Attendance

At St Georges's, our culture statement says:

We are fun. We are together.

Being together means attending school regularly. This year, we have set a challenging target for attendance to be in line with pre-Covid levels. Each week we will publish our attendance in this newsletter. Please contribute by ensuring your child is in school, not missing out on learning.

This week's average attendance: 96.3%
Highest class attendance of the week: Kahlo Class - 99.00%
Academic year's average attendance: 96.3%
Our target for the year: 97.00%

We are proud to say that we have now been awarded three attendance certificates. We have been in the top 25% of similar schools for attendance in both the Autumn and Spring terms of the 2023-24 academic year. Results now say that we were in the top 10% of similar schools for attendance over the whole academic year!
