Our Value of the month: PATIENCE

Dear St. George’s families,

As we reach the final week of this half term, it’s wonderful to reflect on all the fantastic moments we’ve shared. Our Year 5 and 6 pupils showed great enthusiasm and sportsmanship at the House Football Tournament, making us incredibly proud. A big thank you to everyone who supported the event!

We also loved welcoming our Reception and Year 1 parents to the Reading Café workshops. It was great to see so many families engaging with early reading strategies, and we hope you found the sessions valuable.

Looking ahead, a reminder that Friday is a Trust-wide INSET day, and school will be closed to pupils. We appreciate your support in planning for this.

Wishing everyone a brilliant last week of term and a restful break ahead!

Warm regards,

Mr Janes

Attendance

At St Georges's, our culture statement says:

We are fun. We are together.

Being together means attending school regularly. This year, we have set a challenging target for attendance to be in line with pre-Covid levels. Each week we will publish our attendance in this newsletter. Please contribute by ensuring your child is in school, not missing out on learning.

This week's average attendance: 96.00%
Highest class attendance of the week: Tull Class - 97.50%
Academic year's average attendance: 96.00%
Our target for the year: 97.00%

We are proud to say that we have now been awarded three attendance certificates. We have been in the top 25% of similar schools for attendance in both the Autumn and Spring terms of the 2023-24 academic year. Results now say that we were in the top 10% of similar schools for attendance over the whole academic year!
