Our Value of the month: PATIENCE

Dear St. George’s families,

We’ve had a fantastic start to the new half term, and it’s been wonderful to see the children back in school, especially with the sunnier weather lifting everyone’s spirits!

A special highlight this week was our first ever Golden Table event at lunchtime, celebrating pupils who have earned the most Dojo points for their excellent learner behaviour. It was a joy to see them enjoy their reward—dining with golden cutlery and crockery alongside their teacher. Have a look at the news story below for more details!

Looking ahead, we’re excited for World Book Day next week! Across the week, pupils will take part in storytelling workshops, shared reading between classes, and of course, dress-up day—a chance to bring favourite book characters to life. We’ll also come together as a whole school to read a book, making it a truly special celebration of our love for reading.

Also on the horizon is Science Week, where we’ll be exploring the wonders of science through exciting activities. Look out for more information about our Science Fair and make a note of the date at the end of this newsletter!

Thank you for your continued support—we look forward to another fantastic week ahead!

Warm regards,

Mr Janes

Attendance

At St Georges's, our culture statement says:

We are fun. We are together.

Being together means attending school regularly. This year, we have set a challenging target for attendance to be in line with pre-Covid levels. Each week we will publish our attendance in this newsletter. Please contribute by ensuring your child is in school, not missing out on learning.

This week's average attendance: 94.3%
Highest class attendance of the week: Tull Class - 98.8%
Academic year's average attendance: 95.9%
Our target for the year: 97.00%

We are proud to say that we have now been awarded three attendance certificates. We have been in the top 25% of similar schools for attendance in both the Autumn and Spring terms of the 2023-24 academic year. Results now say that we were in the top 10% of similar schools for attendance over the whole academic year!
