Our Value of the month: COMPASSION

Dear St. George’s families,

What a fantastic week we’ve had celebrating World Book Day! It was wonderful to see the children’s enthusiasm for reading, from storytelling workshops to shared reading across year groups. The highlight, of course, was seeing everyone dressed as their favourite book characters—thank you to all the families who helped bring the magic of books to life!

Looking ahead, we’re gearing up for Science Week the week after next, where pupils will take part in exciting experiments and investigations. A reminder to check the dates of our Science Fair at the end of this newsletter—we can’t wait to see the creativity and curiosity on display!

Thank you, as always, for your support. We look forward to another great week ahead!

Warm regards,

Mr Janes

Attendance

At St Georges's, our culture statement says:

We are fun. We are together.

Being together means attending school regularly. This year, we have set a challenging target for attendance to be in line with pre-Covid levels. Each week we will publish our attendance in this newsletter. Please contribute by ensuring your child is in school, not missing out on learning.

This week's average attendance: 95.96%
Highest class attendance of the week: Jemison Class - 100%
Academic year's average attendance: 95.8%
Our target for the year: 97.00%

We are proud to say that we have now been awarded three attendance certificates. We have been in the top 25% of similar schools for attendance in both the Autumn and Spring terms of the 2023-24 academic year. Results now say that we were in the top 10% of similar schools for attendance over the whole academic year!
