Our Value of the month: COMPASSION

Dear St. George’s families,

What a brilliant couple of weeks it has been! Science Week was a huge success, with pupils engaging in exciting investigations and experiments, and our Science Fair showcased some truly impressive projects—well done to all who took part!

We also had lots of fun dressing in red for Red Nose Day, raising money for a fantastic cause. A big thank you to everyone who contributed!

Looking ahead, we’re excited for some fantastic extra-curricular events. Our Year 3 pupils will be performing at the Turning of the Year Concert, and we’re also gearing up for our House Hockey Tournaments—a great opportunity for pupils to demonstrate their teamwork and sportsmanship.

A reminder that our Home Learning Exhibitions will take place in the final week of term. Check out the Home Learning page on our website for exciting task ideas to showcase further learning at home.

Finally, as part of our Lent Call fundraising, we are inviting donations to our school food bank, joining other Diocese schools in supporting those in need. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, as always, for your support—we look forward to another great week ahead!

Warm regards,

Mr Janes

Attendance

At St Georges's, our culture statement says:

We are fun. We are together.

Being together means attending school regularly. This year, we have set a challenging target for attendance to be in line with pre-Covid levels. Each week we will publish our attendance in this newsletter. Please contribute by ensuring your child is in school, not missing out on learning.

This week's average attendance: 95.90%
Highest class attendance of the week: Tull Class - 97.73%
Academic year's average attendance: 95.79%
Our target for the year: 97.00%

We are proud to say that we have now been awarded three attendance certificates. We have been in the top 25% of similar schools for attendance in both the Autumn and Spring terms of the 2023-24 academic year. Results now say that we were in the top 10% of similar schools for attendance over the whole academic year!
