Our Value of the month: COURAGE

Dear St George’s families,

As we reach the end of the first summer half term, it’s been a joyful final day filled with laughter, stories, and slippers! Today was Pyjamarama, and pupils across the school looked wonderfully relaxed as they celebrated their love of reading in their pyjamas. Be sure to read the news story below to see how we got on!

There’s also been plenty of sporting excitement this half term, with pupils showcasing their skills and teamwork at a range of events—again, you can catch up on all the action in the news articles below.

As always, we ended the term by celebrating those pupils who have gone above and beyond with their behaviour and effort. Golden Table invitations were handed out to the children with the highest number of Class Dojos, and they enjoyed a very special dining experience with their teacher and beautifully decorated place settings—only the best for our best!

Looking ahead, don’t forget that we’ve got some exciting St George’s traditions coming up after the break, including Be Brave Day, Diversity Day and Evening, and School Games Day.

Wishing you all a restful and sunny half term.

Warm regards,

Mr Janes

Attendance

At St Georges's, our culture statement says:

We are fun. We are together.

Being together means attending school regularly. This year, we have set a challenging target for attendance to be in line with pre-Covid levels. Each week we will publish our attendance in this newsletter. Please contribute by ensuring your child is in school, not missing out on learning.

This week's average attendance: 95.79%
Highest class attendance of the week: Jemison Class - 99.67%
Academic year's average attendance: 95.73%
Our target for the year: 97.00%

We are proud to say that we have now been awarded three attendance certificates. We have been in the top 25% of similar schools for attendance in both the Autumn and Spring terms of the 2023-24 academic year. Results now say that we were in the top 10% of similar schools for attendance over the whole academic year!
