Our Value of the month: AWE & WONDER

Dear St George's families,

What a joy it was to come together for Diversity Day and our evening celebration – thank you to everyone who helped make it such a special occasion. The sense of community and pride in our school was truly felt throughout the day.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to invite you to our Celebration of the Arts Festival, taking place next Thursday straight after school in the Quad. Families will be able to view pupils' artwork proudly displayed and enjoy some performances that showcase the incredible creativity across our school.

The following day – Friday – is Sports Day, and a reminder that both parents and pupils should go straight to Dulwich College in the morning. It’s always a highlight of the year, and we look forward to cheering everyone on.

We’re also beginning to prepare for our Year 6 Leavers’ Service, which will take place on Monday 14th July – a special moment to mark the end of a significant journey for our oldest pupils.

Finally, Annual Reports – including assessment results – will be emailed to parents in the final week of term. We encourage you to read and celebrate them with your children as we draw the year to a close.

Warm regards,

Mr Janes

Attendance

At St Georges's, our culture statement says:

We are fun. We are together.

Being together means attending school regularly. This year, we have set a challenging target for attendance to be in line with pre-Covid levels. Each week we will publish our attendance in this newsletter. Please contribute by ensuring your child is in school, not missing out on learning.

This week's average attendance: 96.68%
Highest class attendance of the week: Tull & Sancho-Thunberg Class - 100%
Academic year's average attendance: 95.84%
Our target for the year: 97.00%

We are proud to say that we have now been awarded three attendance certificates. We were in the top 10% of similar schools for attendance over the whole academic year. This year, we have been in the top 25% of schools nationally for both Autumn and Spring term.
