Dear St George’s families,
It has been a really lovely start to the half term here at St George’s, with lots going on across the school.
Year 4 have been heading off to their daily swimming lessons and are growing in confidence already — we are so proud of how enthusiastically they are representing the school! We have also seen brilliant participation in our whole-school events, from Odd Socks Day for Anti-Bullying Week to Children in Need, where everyone brightened up the school by wearing yellow or spots.
A huge thank you to all the families who came along to our Open Classroom sessions. It was wonderful to see so many of you exploring your children’s books and talking with their teachers. When home and school work closely together, it makes such a difference!
We also came together as a school on 11th November for our annual Remembrance Service. Please take a moment to read the news story below, which shows how thoughtfully our pupils paid their respects.
Looking ahead, our next community focus is fundraising for Jamaica — a cause chosen by our pupils themselves through our School Council and Pupil Leadership groups. Many of our families have heritage in Jamaica, and the children are excited to be courageous advocates for something they care deeply about. Please do check the information below to see how you can get involved.
Wishing you all a great weekend.
Warm regards,
Mr Janes
