Our Value of the month: LOVE

Dear St George’s families,

It has been another busy and successful week at St George’s, with lots to celebrate across the school.

A huge congratulations to all of our pupils who took part in the TCS Mini London Marathon last weekend. They represented the school brilliantly, showing determination, resilience, and great spirit throughout. We are very proud of each and every one of them, and grateful to Miss Michell for organising such a fantastic opportunity. You can read more about both the marathon and our school event in the news stories below.

Building on this excitement, on Friday the whole school took part in our own TCS Mini Marathon school event, inspired by those who ran in the official event. It was wonderful to see every pupil involved, taking on the challenge and enjoying the experience together.

As we head into the weekend, a reminder that school will be closed on Monday due to the Bank Holiday. We hope you all enjoy the extended weekend and take the opportunity to rest and recharge.

Finally, we would like to wish our Year 6 pupils the very best of luck as they head into their final week of preparation before SATs Week. This is their opportunity to show just how much they have learned during their time at St George’s. We know they will rise to the occasion by embodying our school vision: Be brave. Be great. Be you.

Wishing you all a wonderful long weekend,

Mr Janes

Attendance

At St Georges's, our culture statement says:

We are fun. We are together.

Being together means attending school regularly. This year, we have set a challenging target for attendance to be in line with pre-Covid levels. Each week we will publish our attendance in this newsletter. Please contribute by ensuring your child is in school, not missing out on learning.

This week's average attendance: 96.0%
Highest class attendance of the week: Best Class - 98.6%
Academic year's average attendance: 96.5%
Our target for the year: 97.0%

We are proud to say that we have now been awarded three attendance certificates. We were in the top 10% of similar schools for attendance over the whole academic year. This year, we have been in the top 25% of schools nationally for both Autumn. Let's keep it up and see how we did in the Spring term!
