Dear St George’s families,
We hope you all enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend and were able to take some time to rest and recharge ahead of another busy few weeks at school.
A reminder that next week is SATs Week for our Year 6 pupils. They have worked incredibly hard throughout the year, and this is their opportunity to demonstrate all they have learned during their time at St George’s. Please do keep them in your thoughts as they approach the week with determination and resilience, living out our school vision to Be brave. Be great. Be you.
It has been wonderful to see pupil voice in action this week. Please see the news story below for further details. Our Pupil Leadership Team carried out surveys across the school to find out what helps pupils feel safe at St George’s, as well as what improvements they would like to see. Thanks to their thoughtful ideas and feedback, we are now making some exciting changes, including developing a calm nature space with funding secured by Mrs Barbara in the office. We are also reopening our library space during lunchtimes and exploring improvements to fencing around key areas of the school perimeter. It is fantastic to see our future leaders making such positive changes within our school community.
As we begin to approach the final half term of the academic year, there are already lots of exciting events to look forward to, including Diversity Day and School Games Day. We encourage families to keep an eye on the key dates shared at the end of the newsletter, or via the link to the school calendar, so that you do not miss out on any upcoming events and celebrations.
There continues to be so much happening across the school, and we are looking forward to another fantastic half term together.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
Mr Janes
