Dear St George’s families,
It has been another incredibly busy and successful couple of weeks at St George’s, with so much to celebrate across the school community.
Last weekend, another fantastic trip took place as pupils attended the Women’s Basketball Finals at the O2. It was an exciting opportunity for pupils to experience a major sporting event live and be inspired by elite athletes in action. Please do check out the news story below to read more about the experience.
It was equally wonderful to host our Trust-wide Dance Showcase yesterday alongside five other Trust schools. Our Year 5 pupils represented St George’s brilliantly, and their Bollywood dance performance was a real highlight of the evening. We were incredibly proud of the confidence, energy, and enthusiasm they showed on stage.
Last week, of course, included SATs Week for our Year 6 pupils. We are so proud of the resilience, maturity, and determination they demonstrated throughout the week. They approached each day with positivity and truly embodied our school vision to Be brave. Be great. Be you.
Alongside this, we were pleased to welcome Ofsted into school this week. We are incredibly proud of our achievements as a school community and would like to thank all parents and carers who took the time to complete the survey or speak directly with inspectors. As always, our pupils were absolutely fantastic and represented the school wonderfully. We hope the report will be available before the end of the summer term, and we look forward to sharing the outcomes with you so that you can see how inspectors viewed our fabulous school.
Today, pupils enjoyed taking part in Pyjamarama Day, celebrating the joy of reading. It was lovely to see so many children come into school in their pyjamas and enjoy sharing stories with adults from different classes across the school. Thank you to everyone who contributed £1 towards the event and helped raise money through this fun celebration of books and reading.
Finally, as we reach the end of another busy half term, we would like to wish all of our families a restful and enjoyable half-term break.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday,
Mr Janes
