Dear St George’s families,
It has been another busy and exciting week at St George’s, with lots to celebrate across the school community.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Celebration of Arts Festival. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with fantastic performances and an opportunity to admire the incredible artwork produced by our pupils. We were delighted to see so many families attend, and thank you to everyone who purchased a piece of their child's artwork. Events like this showcase the creativity that is such an important part of life at St George’s and reflect why we are so proud to hold the Artsmark award. A special thank you must go to Miss Doswell, our Art Lead, for all of her hard work in organising such a successful event.
On Friday, pupils enjoyed taking part in Be Brave Day, which was made even better by the glorious sunshine. It was fantastic to see so many thoughtful and imaginative costumes as we explored what it means to be brave. Courage is something that sits at the heart of our school vision, and the day provided a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our motto: Be brave. Be great. Be you.
We are also delighted to see so many sporting opportunities taking place this term. Please take a look at the news stories below to find out how our cricket teams have been getting on. A huge thank you to Miss Michelle for all of her hard work organising such a busy and varied sporting calendar for our pupils.
Looking ahead, we are excited for Orienteering Week next week. This always proves to be a popular event, giving pupils the chance to get hands-on with their geography learning as they develop their map-reading and compass skills around the school grounds.
Finally, a reminder that Diversity Day is coming up in just a couple of weeks. We hope families are already beginning to think about any food dishes, traditional dress, or cultural items they may wish to share. It is always one of the highlights of the year and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the rich diversity of our school community together.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
Mr Janes
