Our Value of the month: THANKFULNESS

Dear St. George's families,

Thank you very much to everyone who has supported our new home learning routines. The learning your child does at home is really important and ensures they make as much progress as they possibly can. A reminder that our home learning procedures can be found here.

It was brilliant seeing so many parents attend our Reading Cafés this week. We hope you enjoyed learning how we teach phonics at St George's, as well as enjoying a biscuit or two! A big thank you to Miss Sarris and Miss Faulkner for leading the Cafés, and for Carley's help setting up.

It is always lovely seeing our pupils out and about on trips. Check out the news stories below to see some of the sporting and educational trips that have begun already this year. There will be many trips to look forward to as the academic year progresses. We are so lucky to have so many transport options available to us to ensure we enrich the curriculum for our pupils, and luckier still that we have staff who organise these trips.

Finally, Miss MacAlpine and Miss Michell are pleased to announce that we are implementing a new pupil-leadership model at St George's. Excitingly, this will involve us having our very first Head Boy and Head Girl. There will be a formal process for the pupils, including filling out application forms and attending an interview with the Headteacher and Deputy Head. Who will make history at St George's as the very first Head Boy and Head Girl?

As ever, we wish you the very best of weekends, full of rest and fun, ready for learning on Monday.

Mr Janes
