Our Value of the month: INTEGRITY

Dear St. George's families,

What a great couple of weeks it has been to showcase how we live out our culture statement at St George's: We are fun. We are together.

On Thursday last week, we had our first annual Science Fair. Mr Bayne, our science lead, was blown away by the number and quality of entrants. All participants were awarded a certificate but the runners-up and winner was decided by our Head Boy and Head Girl. Of course, the real winner of the day was science itself! Check out the news story below to see how spectacular it all looked.

A gentle reminder that home learning exhibitions are coming up next week. This is a chance for pupils to bring in a task linked to their learning in class that has a more creative element to it than our weekly tasks. Check out our home learning page here to find out what optional tasks you could complete this term. Also, check out our news story here to see some of the outcomes of our home learning exhibition just before Christmas.

A big thank you to those of you that have declared interest in our vacant Parent Governor post. You will be contacted next week to find out a little more about the role and the next stage in the process.

A reminder that school ends next Thursday at 1.30pm, which is when our Easter break begins.

Finally, please check out the news story below to access our new school video. We think it provides a great snapshot of what life is like at St George's.

As ever, we wish you the very best of weekends, full of rest and fun, ready for learning on Monday.

Mr Janes

Attendance

At St Georges's, our culture statement says:

We are fun. We are together.

Being together means attending school regularly. This year, we have set a challenging target for attendance to be in line with pre-Covid levels. Each week we will publish our attendance in this newsletter. Please contribute by ensuring your child is in school, not missing out on learning.

This week's average attendance: 95.61%
Highest class attendance of the week: Kahlo Class - 98.75%
Academic year's average attendance: 94.38%
Our target for the year: 97.00%

We are proud to say that we have won a certificate for our attendance! Have a look below to see.
