Our vision statement: Be brave. Be great. Be you.

Our culture statement: We are fun. We are together.

Dear St. George's families,

Our school value for this month is 'Belonging' and we have certainly felt a keen sense of belonging here at St. George's this week.

It has been wonderful reflecting on part of what makes us who we are on World Afro Day. Jeans for Genes Day too had a real sense of belonging as we all wore denim for a shared purpose: to raise money for a good cause.

Please have a look at some of the notices later in this newsletter, as we are asking for some volunteers for Black History Month and there is also some information on our Open Classroom events.

As ever, we wish you the very best of weekends, full of rest and fun, ready for learning on Monday.

Reminders

Black History Month 2021:

Volunteers Wanted!

October is Black History Month and as part of our learning we would really like to invite in members of our parent and wider community who have black heritage to speak in an assembly.

We believe that if our pupils can 'see it', they can 'be it' and that we have many positive role models in our community who can inspire our young pupils to go on and be black history makers.  Look out for a letter on SchoolPing next week or see Mr Janes for more details.

Autumn Term Clubs

Look out on SchoolPing for letters in the upcoming weeks about the clubs we will be running in the Autumn Term, in a safe way.

On the agenda is sports, creative provision and possible cookery club. Watch this space!

Open Classrooms Evening

Our Open Classroom events are coming up! Please see the calendar below for times and dates.

On the evening, parents are free to drop into their child's class where their books and learning will be available for you to peruse with your child. Their class teacher will also be available to speak to about how they have settled, classroom routines and how well they are doing with their learning.

There are two slots, one straight after school and one later in the evening for those with work commitments. See you there!
