Dear St. George's families,

What a final week we have had! The hottest temperatures on record in Britain, Sports Day, and Year 6 Leavers' Ceremony... we have certainly earned our six week break.

We would like to thank everyone who came and cheered on their family members at Sports Day this week. As always, it was a wonderful, joyous event, which showcased what a great community we have here at St George's.

Dates for the next academic year are now on our website here. They are also listed on the key dates below in this newsletter.

Please have a safe and relaxed summer and encourage your children to take up as many opportunities as they can.

Mr Janes

Head teacher

St. George's CE Primary

Fond Farewells

It is with sadness that we say a couple of goodbyes this week.

Mr Bray is off to new adventures at a school slightly nearer home.

Miss Windett has finished her maternity cover and is looking at choices beyond teaching.

We wish them both the best for the future.

Alongside that, we have some new staff to welcome, including Miss Doswell, who is our new Year 2 teacher. We also welcome back Mrs Franklin-Smith from her maternity cover. We cannot wait until September!

Our New Attendance Officer

At St George's, we know that it is vitally important that our pupils are in every day and on time. We do not want them to miss out on a single minute's learning.

Next academic year, we will be working with Lewisham's attendance team and will have our very own Education Welfare Officer based here once a week.

Her name is Laura Annansingh and she looks forward to helping families ensure pupils reach their attendance goals.
