Dear St. George's families,

There are lots of events to look forward to this half term and they begin next week.

Firstly, Mrs King is inviting all Reception and Year One parents to our Letters and Sounds Cafe to have a cup of tea or coffee and learn how we teach phonics. Please look at the poster below for more details.

Secondly, next Friday is Jeans for Genes day. We look forward to seeing pupils in their denim to raise money for a good cause.

Year 6 will also be gearing up for their School Journey Residential beginning the week after next. There will be plenty of opportunities for them to be brave on the activities that week!

Finally, teachers are busy organising class trips so that we can begin to experience as much of London as possible. There is so much happening at St George's!

We look forward to seeing you all back on Tuesday next week, following the Bank Holiday for the Queen's funeral.

As ever, we wish you the very best of weekends, full of rest and fun, ready for learning on Tuesday.

Mr Janes

Jeans for Genes Day 2022

As we are courageous advocates here at St. George's, we will be participating in Jeans for Genes Day on the 23rd September.

Pupils can wear their jeans to school on that day in exchange for £1.00, which will go to a very good cause.

For more information about the cause, please click on the website, here.

Our New Attendance Officer

At St George's, we know that it is vitally important that our pupils are in every day and on time. We do not want them to miss out on a single minute's learning.

This academic year, we will be working with Lewisham's attendance team and will have our very own Education Welfare Officer based here once a week.

Her name is Laura Annansingh and she looks forward to helping families ensure pupils reach their attendance goals.
