Dear St. George's families,

On Tuesday next week, it is national Safer Internet Day. Across the whole week and the week after half term, pupils at St George's will be participating in targeted sessions which teach them the importance of staying safe online.

We recognise that this is an ever-increasing issue and want our pupils to be prepared for life in modern Britain. Please have a look at the links on the Safe Internet Centre website here if you would like to get a headstart on this at home. These links are also on our Computing page on our school website.

Some of you will have seen our new banner outside the front gate this week. It was designed by our pupils to highlight the importance of Anti-Idling. We are proud to have worked with Lewisham to develop courageous advocacy at St George's. Check out the news story below for a bit more information.

Finally, it has been a real pleasure having discussions with pupils this week about the support and hard work that you are putting in at home with reading, times tables and arithmetic. There have been lots of tales of arithmetic test scores going up because of the practice families are putting in at home. Thank you for your support with your child's learning. Together, we can ensure our pupils live out our vision statement of: Be brave. Be great. Be you.

As ever, we wish you the very best of weekends, full of rest and fun, ready for learning on Monday.
