Our vision statement: Be brave. Be great. Be you.

Our culture statement: We are fun. We are together.

Dear St. George's families,

We have reached the end of a fantastic first half term, crammed full of learning and opportunities to come together as a community.

We hope you have a wonderful break with your children and enjoy family time together.

Have a look at the news stories below to see just some of the learning that has taken place this half term. We have been blown away by our pupils' artwork and their writing.

You will notice that the reminders below are dominated by our School Council actions and initiatives. We are so proud to have a school in which pupil voice is heard, listened to and actioned.

Finally, a big thank you to everyone who attended our phonics workshop.

We wish you the very best of breaks, full of rest and fun, ready for learning next half term.

Mr Janes

Reminders

School Council Action:

Class Names Voting

School Council have been busy this week collating each class's ideas for a whole school theme for giving our classes new names.

They have shared this with Ms MacAlpine and Mr Janes and a survey will be sent out to all families to share the chosen theme in the first week after half term. We will be asking for suggestions for class names using the given theme.

We are proud to have a school where all voices are heard and are part of the decision-making process.

School Council Action:

Improving Playtimes

Part of School Council's agenda for this term is to help improve our already fantastic offer at playtime.

In one of the first weeks back after half term, we will be setting up a stall in the quad for pupils to write their ideas down on how to improve our play and lunch times.

We look forward to hearing all of your fabulous ideas and making improvements where we can.

School Council Action:

Anti- Bullying Week 2021

School Council have been busy looking at our upcoming events on the school calendar.

The week beginning 15th November is Anti-Bullying week and they will begin preparing a whole school assembly on the 'One Kind Word' theme after half term.

We look forward to hearing pupil voice on how to make sure we all stay safe at St. George's.

We will also take part in 'Odd Socks Day'. This is a day when pupils can come in wearing odd socks, to celebrate and recognise that we are all different and unique. Check out the calendar below to find out when this will take place.

School Council Action:

Children in Need 2021

We are all courageous advocates at St George's and want to make a difference where we can.

School Council have come up with ideas to help raise money for Children in Need this year.

Because of their creativity and drive, we will be holding an own clothes day, a cake sale and poster competition.

Watch this space for more details!
