On Thursday evening, the whole school community gathered together to celebrate the Arts in a vibrant and exciting festival showcasing creativity across all year groups, from Nursery to Year 6.

This week, Kahlo Class have continued their exciting Space topic as part of our Journeys learning.

This week, Year 5 had a valuable and engaging visit from PC Harriet, who spoke to the children about staying safe and confident when using the online world.

Year 3 pupils recently enjoyed a special visit to Holy Trinity Church, where they took part in a meaningful and creative lantern workshop.

This week, Year 5 visited The Natural History Museum to enhance their knowledge on their science topic: Living things and their habitats.

Year 4 Enjoy Platform Cricket Festival at Mayow Park

At the end of this half term, five children from each class were invited to join their teacher at the prestigious Golden Table. ๐ This special recognition is awarded to pupils who have consistently demonstrated outstanding behaviour, a positive attitude, and a commitment to learning throughout the term.

This week, Kahlo Class have launched into our exciting new Space topic as part of our Journeys learning.

Children Enjoy Thrilling Basketball Finals Day at The O2 Arena

Yesterday, the Rainbow Room Inclusion Group enjoyed a fantastic session at Soft Play, where the children had a wonderful time exploring and navigating the different levels and activities. From climbing and crawling to balancing and sliding, the children embraced every challenge with enthusiasm.

This week in PE, Year 2 have been developing their sending and receiving skills through a range of fun and engaging activities.

This week, Kahlo Class have been enjoying the story The Gingerbread Man as part of our topic Journeys.

Year 1 Jemison class have had a fantastic start to their new PE topic, Send and Return! ๐พ๐ The children have been developing their coordination and teamwork skills through a range of exciting activities using balls, beanbags, bats and markers. ๐โ๏ธ๐ก๐

On Thursday, some of our Pupil Leadership Team led worship and shared the important work they have recently been doing around safeguarding and pupil voice.
Our learning on the topic of Land, Air and Water is continuing in Nursery! The children have been busy exploring, investigating and creating through a range of activities.

This week, Year 3 have been busy learning about the different parts of a plant, including the flower, stem, leaves and roots.

Shackleton Class have been lucky enough to take part in a fantastic workshop programme delivered by Crystal Palace Sports Club called Equal Eagles.

This term in Art, Year 2 have been exploring textiles and collage, developing their creativity through layering, cutting, and combining different materials.

This week, Kahlo Class have been learning about journeys and transport as part of our Summer Term topic Journeys. The children have been brilliant at showing our vision to Be an Explorer ๐. Be a Trier ๐ช. Be a Talker ๐ฃ๏ธ. Be a Creator ๐จ.

Twenty-four children from Years 4 to 6 at St George’s proudly took part in this year’s TCS Mini Marathon on Saturday 25th April 2026, enjoying an unforgettable day in the heart of London.

This term, Year 3 have been exploring the work of Faith Ringgold, taking inspiration from her bold use of colour, pattern, and storytelling through art.

Last week, Shackleton Class travelled to the V&A Museum and took part in an exciting and creative clay workshop.
We are delighted to share that our new topic for the term is Land, Air & Water! Over the coming weeks, the children will be exploring this theme through hands-on experiences, creativity, and plenty of curiosity-led learning.

This week, Kahlo Class have been learning about Spring and Minibeasts. The children have been wonderful Explorers ๐, Triers ๐ช, Talkers ๐ฃ๏ธ, and Creators ๐จ as they discovered the changes that happen at this time of year.

Pupils brought books to life as they dressed as their favourite characters and celebrated reading together across the school.
Miss Khan attended the Parliament Teacher Ambassador Programme at Westminster, becoming part of a national cohort of teachers working to achieve accreditation with the Parliament Education Team.

Year 1 Jemison had a fantastic DT Day all about structures! ๐ข๐งฑ

To celebrate the end of a fantastic half term, five children from each class were chosen to sit at the special Golden Table with their teacher. This is a proud moment for our pupils and a wonderful way to recognise those who have consistently demonstrated exceptional behaviour and a positive attitude to learning.
This week, we were delighted to host our "Playing with Words" workshop, specially designed for our children who will be moving up to Reception in September.

On 19th January 2026, children from Year 3 and Year 4 attended the SEND New Age Kurling School Games competition, held at Bonus Pastor Catholic College.

We had some super visitors this week: musicians performed live alongside stories and illustrations displayed on the screen!

Year 1 Jemison Class had a fantastic trip to the Horniman Museum as part of our science topic, Animals Including Humans ๐งช๐.

Drama4All Brings Stories to Life!
We were delighted to welcome Perform Drama4All into school this week, where they ran a series of highly enjoyable drama workshops for our Early Years and Key Stage 1 children.

A few weeks ago, we were delighted to welcome families to our wonderful Arts Fair, and what a fantastic event it was! The school was buzzing with excitement as we celebrated creativity across all year groups.

At the end of this half term, five children from each class were invited to enjoy a special Golden Table lunch with their teacher. ๐ This reward recognised pupils who have consistently gone above and beyond in their behaviour and attitude, impressing their teachers throughout the half term.

This week in nursery, the children have continued with our topic All About Me, moving on to think about Our Homes - and where we live.

On Wednesday, our Year 2 children set off on a very special adventure to Holy Trinity Church for the Spinnaker Trust’s Christmas Journey workshop. From the moment they left school, their excitement set the tone for what became a truly fantastic morning.

Shackleton class visited the British Museum to explore the Ancient Greeks!

This week, Jemison Class took part in a hands-on Science lesson all about identifying and classifying. Using magnifying glasses, the children explored four different types of trees: Beech, Oak, Scots Pine and Horse Chestnut. They carefully examined each leaf’s shape, size and texture, using these clues to work out which tree it had come from. ๐๐

Today, our Pupil Leadership Team met with representatives from our catering company to talk about what’s going well at lunchtime and to share ideas for making our lunchtime offer even better.
On Wednesday 19th November, our School Council and Pupil Leaders organised a special Jamaica Fundraising Day to support families affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Our year 5/6 mixed basketball team achieved Gold in the Lewisham School Games Basketball tournament.

This week we welcomed families into school for our Open Classrooms, and what a fantastic evening it was!

On 11 November, our whole school community came together in the hall for our annual Remembrance Day Service.

This week, our school celebrated Anti-Bullying Week with the theme “Power for Good.” The children explored how we can use our power positively, for example, the power to be kind and supportive to others.

This week in RE, Shackleton Class took part in a creative summary lesson to bring together everything we’ve learned about Hinduism this term.
This week, Kahlo Class have been learning all about Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. The children have truly shone as Explorers ๐, Triers ๐ช, Talkers ๐ฃ๏ธ, and Creators ๐จ while learning about this special celebration.

Today we celebrated Odd Socks Day, marking the start of Anti-Bullying Week. Students and staff proudly wore mismatched socks to celebrate what makes each of us unique and to remind everyone that our differences are what make our school community so special.
What an exciting few weeks we have had in Nursery! Our topic, All About Me, has continued to inspire us as we learn about the celebrations and festivals that are special to different families. The children have been busy exploring, talking, creating and trying new things every day.
