Year 5/6 Boys Cricket

St George’s Year 5/6 Boys Shine at Lewisham School Games Cricket Tournament.
On Tuesday 20th May, our talented Year 5/6 boys proudly represented St George’s at the annual Lewisham School Games boys cricket competition, held at the beautiful St Dunstan’s Jubilee Ground.
The team showcased all the skills they have worked so hard to develop during their P.E. lessons—throwing, catching, bowling, fielding, and batting. Every player contributed to the team’s success with energy, focus, and great sportsmanship. Their efforts paid off with an outstanding third-place finish—an exceptional achievement against strong competition from across the borough.
Throughout the tournament, the boys embodied our P.E. values:
Be Passionate – showing energy and enthusiasm in every match.
Be Respectful – to their teammates, opponents, and umpires.
Be Determined – never giving up and playing each game with focus and heart.
Not only did they play brilliantly, but they also served as excellent ambassadors for St George’s, demonstrating teamwork, fair play, and pride in their school.
Next up is the Year 5/6 Girls Cricket Competition on Thursday. We’re excited to see them in action—watch this space for the full report on how they got on!
