Shackleton class on the way to professional cricketers!

Shackleton Class has been focusing on the skills and techniques needed to play cricket.

This term in PE, Shackleton Class has been focusing on the skills and techniques needed to play cricket—and we’ve had a brilliant time learning and improving together!

We began by looking at one of the most important parts of the game: how to hold and throw the ball correctly. Pupils practised their grip, aiming, and technique when bowling and throwing to the batsman. We talked about why accuracy and control are so important in cricket, especially during a match.

After building our skills, we put them to the test by playing a mini-match, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed! The pupils showed brilliant teamwork and enthusiasm, and a few even managed to take some impressive wickets and catches—a real highlight of the session!

This unit links perfectly to our PE curriculum vision:

Be passionate. Be respectful. Be determined.

Shackleton Class showed great determination to master their skills, respect for each other during the game, and a true passion for sport!
