Happy Harvest!

On Monday this week, children from Years 1 to 6 enjoyed a very special walk to church to celebrate our annual Harvest Festival with Father Richard.

The service was a wonderful moment of reflection and celebration, with our Faith Group leading the worship alongside Father Richard.

Our school value for this month is Thankfulness, and the children spoke about the importance of being grateful for all that we have. They also reminded us how vital it is to share with others, especially at this time of year, and Father Richard received  our Harvest food donations.

And of course, no Harvest Festival would be complete without singing our St George’s favourite“Cauliflowers Fluffy”! The hall was filled with happy voices and smiling faces as we celebrated this much-loved tradition.

A special  Harvest highlight this year was the enormous pumpkin proudly displayed on our Harvest table in the  school hall. This fantastic pumpkin was grown by our very own St George’s pupils, with the help of Mr Bayne and Ben, our premises officer—a huge well done to them all!

Also, a big Thank You to our Saint George’s families! In school we  have  been very busy collecting  your Harvest contributions of food  to  be used  to support the food bank - your kindness and generosity are truly appreciated.

Once again, this year’s Harvest Festival has been a wonderful way to live out our St George’s culture statement:

We are Fun. We are Together.
