The excitement continued at St Dunstan’s Jubilee with the Year 3/4 girls House Football Tournament, an event that truly highlighted the power of confidence, teamwork, and enjoyment in school sport.

It was wonderful to see all of the girls taking part with such enthusiasm. For many, there were understandable nerves and anxieties ahead of the tournament, but these quickly turned into smiles, determination, and a clear love for the game once play began. Every match was filled with energy, commitment, and growing confidence as the girls supported one another and embraced the challenge.

Across the tournament, we saw some excellent football on display, with well-worked goals, brave defending, and impressive goalkeeping. Just as importantly, there was constant encouragement from teammates and spectators, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere throughout the event.

It was great to see the Year 5/6 Little Leaders do an incredible job helping at their first competition. They scored accurately, referred fairly and noted all those players who were showing excellent sportsmanship. 

The competition strongly reflected our PE values. The girls showed what it means to be passionate by giving their best effort in every game, be determined by pushing through nerves and challenges, and be respectful through fair play, teamwork, and support for others.

We know how important it is to deliver fun and inclusive tournaments, and this event was a perfect example of how sport can provide children with a positive, enjoyable experience that builds confidence and a love for physical activity. The Year 3/4 girls House Football Tournament was a fantastic celebration of participation, progress, and sporting spirit, and we are incredibly proud of everyone who took part.
