Spectacular Science at St George’s Science Fair 2026

Curiosity in Action: St George's Science Fair
The annual Science Fair at St George’s Primary School was a fantastic celebration of curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning, with pupils across the school proudly showcasing their scientific knowledge and investigative skills.
Guided by our St George’s Science Vision:
Be academic. Be curious. Be practical.
this year’s event truly embodied all three principles. The hall weas filled with an exciting range of projects that demonstrated both scientific understanding and imaginative thinking.
Visitors were greeted by erupting volcano models, capturing attention with dramatic chemical reactions, alongside cleverly designed vortex experiments created using simple bottles to explore the movement of air and water. Pupils also explored biology through beautifully coloured flowers, demonstrating how plants absorb water and nutrients.
Innovation was on full display with a range of pupil-built robots, highlighting growing interests in engineering and technology. Meanwhile, space research projects took us beyond Earth, with children presenting fascinating facts about planets, astronauts, and the wider universe.
A strong sense of responsibility for the world around us was evident in several projects focused on eco-friendly living. Pupils shared thoughtful and practical advice on how we can all help protect our planet, showing a deep understanding of environmental issues.
The standard of entries this year was exceptionally high, and judges were incredibly impressed by the effort, enthusiasm, and scientific thinking demonstrated by all participants. It was clear that our young scientists not only enjoy science but are developing the skills to question, investigate, and innovate.
A huge well done to everyone who took part — we are already looking forward to seeing what next year’s Science Fair will bring!
Be academic. Be curious. Be practical.
