π± Year 1 Jemison Class β Exploring Plants! π±

This week in Science, Year 1 Jemison began an exciting new topic all about plants! πΌπΏ
The children learned about what plants need to grow and had lots of fun planting their own seeds. We discussed the steps involved in planting a seed and why each step is important. Everyone showed fantastic listening skills and carefully followed the instructions.
π± How to Plant a Seed
- Fill a small pot with soil. πͺ΄
- Make a small hole in the soil using your finger. π
- Place the seed into the hole. π°
- Cover the seed gently with soil. π±
- Water the soil carefully. π§
- Put the pot in a sunny spot. βοΈ
- Watch and wait for your seed to grow! ππΏ
We can't wait to observe our seeds over the coming weeks and see the changes as they begin to sprout and grow. Well done, Jemison Class, for being such enthusiastic young scientists! βπ¬π»
We have certainly lived out the calls to action in our curriculum vision statement for science:
Be academic. Be curious. Be practical.
