Year 5 explore The Natural History Museum

This week, Year 5 visited The Natural History Museum to enhance their knowledge on their science topic: Living things and their habitats.
This week, Year 5 visited the world-famous Natural History Museum to enhance their learning in science, particularly our topic Living things and their habitats. Travelling into Central London, pupils were excited to explore one of the country's most fascinating museums and discover over 4.5 billion years of natural history.
During the visit, pupils worked collaboratively in groups to complete an activity sheet based on some of the museum's greatest exhibits. We had the opportunity to explore the Blue, Red and Green Wings, each offering a unique insight into the natural world. The children were particularly fascinated by the impressive dinosaur skeletons, exhibits on British wildlife and evolution, and displays that helped them understand how animals are classified according to their features.
The trip provided a fantastic opportunity to bring classroom learning to life and deepen pupils' understanding of the natural world. Year 5 represented the school brilliantly and thoroughly enjoyed this memorable educational experience.
Our curriculum vision statement for science is:
Be academic. Be curious. Be practical.
