St George’s Tennis Stars Enjoy Summer Tennis Camp!

St George's pupils enjoying tennis camp at Old College!
At the end of the Summer Term, we were delighted to welcome Alex and Jake, tennis coaches from Old College Tennis Club, to St George’s for a fantastic and fun-filled tennis session.
The session was a brilliant opportunity for our Year 4 and Year 5 pupils to get involved, develop their tennis skills and, most importantly, have fun! Following the session, 10 children were selected to attend a week-long tennis camp during the summer holidays.
It was fantastic to see so many children from Years 4 and 5 getting involved and enjoying the experience. During the camps, the children developed their understanding and technique of the main tennis shots, while also taking part in lots of exciting games and challenges. The week finished with a fun tournament, giving everyone the chance to put their new skills into practice and celebrate their progress.
Throughout the week, our pupils showed our PE values brilliantly. They were passionate about learning and improving, were respectful towards their coaches and teammates, and were determined to keep trying, even when the challenges became tricky.
This was an incredible opportunity for our pupils, and we are extremely grateful to Alex, Jake and Old College Tennis Club for providing such a fantastic experience. We are proud of the strong community link we have developed with the tennis club and look forward to continuing to build on this partnership in the future.
Well done to all of our young tennis players! It was wonderful to see you learning, laughing, competing and, most importantly, enjoying sport together.
