Growing Together: Children's Mental Health Week 2022

This week, St George’s have been celebrating Children’s mental Health Week in lots of amazing ways. Following the theme ‘Growing Together’ we have been finding so many different ways of growing on the inside as well as the outside!

Our subject vision statement for PSHE is:

Be Healthy

Be Safe

Be Resilient

This week, we have dedicated our PSHE lessons to creating a Happy Newspaper, inspired by the brilliant Happy Newspaper by Emily Coxhead. Using her newspaper as inspiration, each class used either templates or their own imagination to create a newspaper only filled with happy news! We have reflected on our year and found its of happy things that have happened so that we can celebrate the many successes we have at St George’s!

We have also participated in active challenges, because we know that a healthy body makes a healthy mind! We had so much fun using our Sporting Spirits, especially teamwork to try and win gold on all of our challenges. Everyone took part and had a fantastic time. We’re also giving a special shout out to Year 5, who took the challenge to the next level and recorded all of their scores to see who was the ultimate active challenger- Well done, Miss Michell!

Finally, we had an assembly about how we can grow together and use our Christian Value of the month ‘Healing’ to think about how w can grow and heal without even thinking about it! We read a fantastic book called ‘Have You Filled Your Bucket Today?’ Which taught us all how to be bucket fillers, not bucket dippers!
