New Year in Nursery

Macmillan nursery have started 2023 with a bang!

In nursery, our work on the season of winter continues and the children have been perfecting their colour mixing techniques to produce winter pictures in the style of Vincent Van Gogh.  We chose a Van Gogh snow landscape as the children had loved our snowy days before Christmas!

Can you spot the real Van Gogh below?

After this colour mixing work, some of the children were inspired to colour mix independently over the next few days to produce some lovely blue icy paintings!

We have also started work on our new topic 'Bears' and our first focus book has been 'The Three Bears'. The children enjoyed creating a bear house in the woods, where they could play with the bears, feed them porridge, and finally tuck them in bed for a well-deserved rest.

We have also been re-telling the story at our small world table and creating our very own Three Bears books with appropriately sized bears and bowls!

Next on the agenda is cooking porridge for the bears - and the children!

In nursery work on our Early Years Vision continues:

Be an Explorer. Be a Trier. Be a Talker. Be a Creator.
