This week in nursery, the children have continued with our topic All About Me, moving on to think about Our Homes - and where we live.

On Wednesday, our Year 2 children set off on a very special adventure to Holy Trinity Church for the Spinnaker Trust’s Christmas Journey workshop. From the moment they left school, their excitement set the tone for what became a truly fantastic morning.

Shackleton class visited the British Museum to explore the Ancient Greeks!

This week, Jemison Class took part in a hands-on Science lesson all about identifying and classifying. Using magnifying glasses, the children explored four different types of trees: Beech, Oak, Scots Pine and Horse Chestnut. They carefully examined each leaf’s shape, size and texture, using these clues to work out which tree it had come from. ๐๐

Today, our Pupil Leadership Team met with representatives from our catering company to talk about what’s going well at lunchtime and to share ideas for making our lunchtime offer even better.
On Wednesday 19th November, our School Council and Pupil Leaders organised a special Jamaica Fundraising Day to support families affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Year 4 enjoyed making bread rolls and pizza during D.T day.

Our year 5/6 mixed basketball team achieved Gold in the Lewisham School Games Basketball tournament.

This week we welcomed families into school for our Open Classrooms, and what a fantastic evening it was!

On 11 November, our whole school community came together in the hall for our annual Remembrance Day Service.

Year 6 have explored whether healthy street food could save us!

This week, our school celebrated Anti-Bullying Week with the theme “Power for Good.” The children explored how we can use our power positively, for example, the power to be kind and supportive to others.

This week in RE, Shackleton Class took part in a creative summary lesson to bring together everything we’ve learned about Hinduism this term.
This week, Kahlo Class have been learning all about Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. The children have truly shone as Explorers ๐, Triers ๐ช, Talkers ๐ฃ๏ธ, and Creators ๐จ while learning about this special celebration.

Today we celebrated Odd Socks Day, marking the start of Anti-Bullying Week. Students and staff proudly wore mismatched socks to celebrate what makes each of us unique and to remind everyone that our differences are what make our school community so special.
What an exciting few weeks we have had in Nursery! Our topic, All About Me, has continued to inspire us as we learn about the celebrations and festivals that are special to different families. The children have been busy exploring, talking, creating and trying new things every day.

This week, Jemison Class enjoyed a fantastic Design and Technology (DT) Day all about healthy eating. The children had a wonderful time exploring colourful, nutritious foods and developing important cooking skills.

This week, Kahlo Class have been learning all about being healthy as part of our Ourselves topic. The children have been Explorers ๐, Triers ๐ช, Talkers ๐ฃ๏ธ, and Creators ๐จ through stories, writing, and hands-on fun!
On Monday this week, children from Years 1 to 6 enjoyed a very special walk to church to celebrate our annual Harvest Festival with Father Richard.
This week, both Reception and Year 1 held their wonderful Reading Café Phonics Workshops — and what a fantastic success they were!
It’s been another busy couple of weeks in Nursery as our children continue to explore our topic “All About Me.” Through play, stories, and creative fun, the children have been thinking about what makes them special and how we can keep our bodies fit, strong, and healthy.

This week, St George’s celebrated World Mental Health Day — a special day of wearing yellow to raise awareness and show support for positive wellbeing.

This week, Kahlo Class have been learning all about growing up and birthdays as part of our topic Ourselves. The children have been shining as Explorers ๐, Triers ๐ช, Talkers ๐ฃ๏ธ, and Creators ๐จ through lots of fun activities.
The new autumn term is off to a wonderful start, and the nursery children have been busy exploring, learning, and creating!

This week in Geography, Year 3 became real-life explorers as they learned how to use a compass. The children headed outside, compasses in hand, ready to discover how to find their way around the world.

This week in Jemison Class, our Year 1 children have been busy becoming explorers through their imaginations. Inspired by the much-loved story “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” ๐ป, we designed and created our very own adventure maps.

We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the Platinum School Games Award for 2024/205.

This week, pupils from Years 1 to 6 took part in an exciting Orienteering Morning, where the school grounds were transformed into a vibrant learning space full of maps, markers, and movement! ๐โ๏ธ๐ Orienteering is a fantastic activity that helps children develop essential map reading and navigation skills in a fun and active setting. ๐๐ณ

Year 6’s Mini-Enterprise Week: Budding Entrepreneurs in Action!
Today was a very special day in Reception and Nursery! After carefully watching our caterpillars grow and change, we released our beautiful butterflies into the wild.

Rainbow Room had a superb day out at the London Sea Life Centre today. We travelled by train and enjoyed walking across the Golden Jubilee Bridge to the Southbank, taking in the wonderful city views along the way.

Last Friday, ten of our Year 5 pupils joined Miss Nabila on a trip to St Dunstan's School for a marvellous maths morning full of fun and fantastic problem-solving activities.

The school was awash with inspirational figures today for Be Brave Day!

This term in Nursery, we’ve been diving into the wonderful world around us through our topic: Ground, Air, and Water.

This week, we proudly celebrated our Golden Table — a special tradition at St. George’s that recognises pupils who go above and beyond in their attitudes and behaviours towards their education ๐โจ.

This half term, Year 1 Jemison Class have been diving into the world of 3D sculpture as part of their exciting Art and Design topic!

On Thursday 15th May, our Rainbow Room children swapped the classroom for a morning of climbing, crawling, and giggles at the Playzone Soft Play centre!
