🌍 Jemison Class Explore Hot and Cold Places Around the World!

This week, our intrepid Year 1 learners in Jemison Class set off on a global adventure—without even leaving the classroom!
As part of their Geography topic, the children have been learning about hot and cold places around the world, from the icy landscapes of Antarctica to the scorching sands of the Sahara Desert.
The children began by looking at a world map and identifying the Equator, discovering how its position influences the temperature of different countries. They loved using globes, atlases, and interactive maps to spot the poles and tropical regions, helping them understand where the hottest and coldest places on Earth are found.
Linking with our Geography vision:
Be an explorer. Be global. Be outdoors.,
the lesson encouraged the children to think like real geographers—exploring new parts of the world through curiosity and questioning.
Jemison Class showed brilliant enthusiasm and are well on their way to becoming true global citizens. 🌏 We can’t wait to see where their next geographical journey will take them!
