St George's Pupils Shine at the TCS Mini Marathon, 2025

20 children represented St George's in the TCS Mini Marathon, 2025.
On Saturday 26th April 2025, 20 excited children from Years 4, 5 and 6 proudly represented St George’s at the TCS Mini London Marathon – a spectacular annual event that continues to grow in size and spirit.
Starting at the iconic Horse Guards Parade, the pupils ran a one-mile route weaving through the heart of the capital. Their journey took them around the picturesque St James’s Park and past Buckingham Palace, offering an unforgettable experience in one of London’s most historic settings.
This year’s Mini Marathon saw a record-breaking turnout, with over 15,000 children from across the country taking part throughout the day. The event was split into waves to manage the large number of participants, and St George’s featured in Wave 37, which included 512 runners in total.
The children were outstanding ambassadors for the school, embodying our PE values:
Be Passionate.
Be Respectful.
Be Determined.
Each runner gave their best effort and cheered on their teammates with pride and enthusiasm.
Getting our Medals
Special congratulations goes to Daniel M, who delivered an incredible performance, finishing 7th overall in the wave – a remarkable achievement against such strong national competition. Well done to Genesis and Ismael, who also crossed the line with and excellent time, coming 2nd and 3rd out of the St George's runners.
Sincere thanks go to Miss Michell, Miss MacAlpine, and Mr Thomas, who volunteered their time to accompany and run alongside the children. Their energy and encouragement made the day even more special. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the many parents who came along to support —your presence meant the world to the children.
It was a day to remember, and we couldn’t be prouder of our young runners. Here's to even more success next year!
