Jingly, Jangly JUNGLE!

Year 2 Geared Up for a Wild Time at the Robot Zoo!
Year 2 had a truly geartastic time at the Horniman Museum’s Robot Zoo!
As we entered, we were welcomed by a towering, glorious giraffe with blinking eyes and clanking joints — a mechanical marvel that set the tone for the day. Inside, the excitement ramped up (along with a few giggles and gasps!) as we met a slightly spooky yet fascinating robot chameleon, a clear class favourite. It blinked, moved, and even changed colour right before our eyes!
These cleverly engineered creatures weren’t just fun to watch — they got us thinking. Back at school, we’ve been busy writing personal recounts of our adventure, filled with excitement and just the right amount of “creepy cool.”
And the learning doesn’t stop there — next half term in DT, we’ll be diving into the world of mechanics, exploring how things move and maybe even building a few robot animals of our own!
We lived up to both our DT curriculum vision statements:
Be innovative.
Be hands-on.
Be diagnostic.
