Funny Bones Fun!

This week, Kahlo Class have been learning all about our bodies as part of our topic “Ourselves.”
The children have truly lived our Early Years vision to Be an Explorer 🌍. Be a Trier 💪. Be a Talker 🗣️. Be a Creator 🎨.
📚 Be a Talker: We enjoyed the story Funnybones and the non-fiction The Body Book by Hannah Alice. Pupils retold the Funnybones story in the small world area, using great expression and teamwork.
🩺 Be an Explorer & a Trier: Our new doctor’s surgery role play area has been a hit, with children checking heartbeats, bandaging patients, and talking about how to stay healthy.
🎨 Be a Creator: Pupils labelled their own body outlines, made spooky skeleton pictures, and even built little homes for the Funnybones skeletons.
❄️ Science Fun: Everyone showed real perseverance as they worked out how to free “bones” trapped in ice—testing warm water, salt, and careful tapping to see what worked best.
It’s been a fantastic week of discovery and creativity—well done, Kahlo Class! 🌟
