A Busy Start!

The new autumn term is off to a wonderful start, and the nursery children have been busy exploring, learning, and creating!
Outdoors, we’ve been looking carefully for signs of seasonal change. Collecting conkers has been a favourite pastime, with lots of excitement as the children discovered shiny treasures hiding inside prickly shells. Inspired by the colours and textures of autumn, we’ve also enjoyed printing and collage activities.
Indoors, we’ve begun our new topic “All About Me.” Each child has created their very own collage figure to represent themselves, which are now proudly displayed in the nursery. It has been great to see how confidently the children can spot not only their own figures, but also those of their friends. This has sparked wonderful conversations and has helped us celebrate what makes each of us unique.
As always, our nursery vision is at the heart of everything we do:
Be an Explorer – noticing the changes in the world around us. Be a Trier – collecting conkers and trying new art techniques. Be a Talker – sharing ideas and recognising friends’ creations. Be a Creator – designing beautiful autumn and “All About Me” collages.
We can’t wait to share more about our topic over the coming weeks – watch this space for more news on activities and stories, including the adventures of the super-strong Avocado Baby!
