💒 Jemison Class Learn About Christian Weddings 💍

This week, Jemison Class had a very special visitor! ✨ Father Richard from St George’s Church ⛪ came to talk to us about Christian weddings and to show us what happens during a wedding ceremony.
Father Richard explained that a wedding in church is more than just a celebration 🎉 – it is an act of worship 🙏. The bride and groom make special promises, called vows 💕, not only to each other but also to God. We learned that Christians believe they are making these promises in God’s presence ✝️ at the very start of their marriage.
After learning about the ceremony, the children had the chance to act out their own wedding in class! 🎭 There were bridesmaids 👗, a flower girl 🌸, groomsmen 🤵, guests 👏, and of course a bride 👰 and groom 🤵. Father Richard played the role of vicar and guided the children through the service. Everyone really enjoyed taking part 😃, and it helped us understand what makes a Christian wedding so important and meaningful.
The children had lots of fun dressing up 👒, saying the vows 📖, and even walking down the aisle 🌹! It was a memorable way to learn about the traditions and promises of a Christian wedding. 💖
