This week, St George’s celebrated World Mental Health Day — a special day to raise awareness and show support for positive wellbeing. Pupils and staff were encouraged to wear something yellow to school as a symbol of hope and positivity, while helping to raise funds for YoungMinds, the UK’s leading young people’s mental health charity.
Across the school, each class took part in thoughtful activities, reflection time, or class discussions about emotions, self-care, and the importance of supporting one another.
One pupil shared, “We wore yellow to show people we care and that it’s okay to talk about our feelings.” This perfectly captured the spirit of the day.
Days like this are so important, as they remind children that looking after our minds is just as vital as looking after our bodies. It also helps them understand that everyone feels differently at times — and that kindness and empathy make a big difference.
It was a truly wonderful day, filled with bright smiles, yellow outfits, and thoughtful discussions, reminding us all that mental health matters every single day. 💛
Below you will see some amazing pictures captured from the day! Also including our head boy and head girl counting how much money we raised, coming to a total of: £106.54!
