🍎 Jemison Class DT Day – Healthy Eating Fun! 🥕

This week, Jemison Class enjoyed a fantastic Design and Technology (DT) Day all about healthy eating. The children had a wonderful time exploring colourful, nutritious foods and developing important cooking skills.
In the morning, we made rainbow wraps 🌈! The children grated a variety of fruits and vegetables, creating a burst of colour to fill their wraps. They mixed these with Greek yoghurt to make a tasty and healthy lunch option. Everyone loved seeing how many colours they could include in their wrap – it really was a rainbow on a plate!
In the afternoon, the class focused on improving their cutting skills 🔪. After learning how to use a vegetable knife safely, the children carefully chopped their own vegetables to make crudités. To go with their crunchy snacks, they made a refreshing tzatziki dip 🥒 by combining yoghurt, cucumber, lemon juice, and mint.
Throughout the day, the children truly embodied our Design and Technology vision:
✨ Be innovative – by creating their own unique and colourful food combinations.
🙌 Be hands-on – by grating, chopping, mixing, and tasting their delicious creations.
🧠 Be diagnostic – by thinking carefully about how to prepare ingredients safely and how to balance flavours.
It was a brilliant day full of learning, creativity, and fun – and plenty of healthy food too! 🥗
