Fabulous Footballers Fly the Flag for St George’s!

St George's Year 5/6 Girls Football Team.

On Friday 7th November, the St George’s Year 5/6 girls’ football team proudly represented the school at the annual School Games 5/6 Football Tournament. From the very first whistle, the girls showed outstanding teamwork, skill and sportsmanship, truly embodying our PE values –

Be passionate.

Be respectful.

Be determined.

Throughout the day, every player gave 100% effort in every match. The team displayed fantastic attacking play, scoring lots of goals and showing real determination right to the final whistle. Our goalkeeper also produced some incredible saves, keeping the team in several close matches and earning praise from spectators and staff alike.

After a series of exciting games, St George’s finished a brilliant 6th place overall, narrowly missing out on a top-four semi-final spot by just two goals. Despite this, the team left with their heads held high, proud of their performance and the way they represented their school with such enthusiasm and respect.

We are now looking forward to our next sporting challenge on Monday, when our mixed Year 5/6 basketball team will take to the court – ready once again to show what it means to be passionate, respectful and determined at St George’s!
